Drinking water is such an important part of our daily lives, especially considering it makes up to 70% of our body weight. While we can live for weeks without food we can only survive a few days without water.
Chlorination has provided us with protection from the dangers of waterborne epidemics caused by bacteria such as Ecoli and cysts such as Giardia. Many authorities claim that drinking water with small amounts of chlorine is safe due to the low level of chlorine in the water. Consider and understand however that the chlorine industry has powerful lobby groups such as the Chlorine Chemistry Council to promote this view.
